Wed. Sep. 23, 2026, 10:30 AM @ Black River Preserve
We’ll meet at Black River Preserve in the 69400 block of 8th Street. It’s east of South Haven and only 25 minutes from Saugatuck. We’ll walk about 3 miles, and there are some short hills.

This preserve is managed by the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy. It has deep ravines, beech-maple forests, streams, rolling uplands, and views of the Black River. There is a wide variety of habitats in which to hike, snowshoe, cross-country ski, look for birds, or just enjoy being outdoors.
Michigan Trails Week celebrates the beauty and diversity of our state-designated trails. We have more than 13,700 miles of trails, and Michigan is home to some of the best year-round hiking in the nation.
