On July 25, 2023 we did a longer hike on the eastern half of the Kal-Haven Trail. Four of us met at 9:00 am at the trailhead on Depot Street in GOBLES and walked three and a half miles to Kendall. We stopped for a short rest and refreshment, then walked back to Gobles. (Normally we would have done a nearer section of the trail, but the western part is closed for repairs)
If the hike sounds challenging, understand that the trail is flat, secure, and easy to follow. You can easily turn back before we reach Kendall if it becomes too much.
El Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James) is a 500-mile pilgrimage route across Spain and this hike takes place on the annual “feast” day of St. James. Two years ago, Chris walked the Camino; he’ll be happy to share stories while we hike.
